“One can think of digital storytelling as the modern extension of the ancient art of storytelling, now interwoven with digitized still and moving images and sound” wikipedia
I love the accessibility of digital storytelling, it allows anyone to tell their story simply and effectively. These three stories were created with a group of elders at Knowle West Health Association to create digital stories about stories from their past. Each participant came up with a unique story, about a relationship that had shaped or transformed their lives.
For some it was an introduction to digital technology and provided a new way of recording and sharing their memories. The simplicity of the form makes it very accessible. We used still images and spoken narrative – digital stories can also combine moving image, text, animation and music – to create these three short, meaningful pieces. Each is a snapshot into someone’s life and emotions.
